About AKAA

Anandakuti Alumni Association was founded in Bhadra 2051 B.S.(Aug 1994) by group of 2037 batch students, after almost 4 decades of the starting of the school. The founder members are

The association' s ad hoc committee members had conceived the idea in poush , 2050 (New Year 1994) to form the association. After legal procedures and necessary preparations, the organisation of ex students of Ananda Kuti Vidyapeeth was formally registered with HMG on 2nd Bhadra 2051 B. S.. The Association was formed with objectives of coordination, harmony, cooperation and brotherhood between the ex-students of the school.
The city office of the association was located at Dharmapath, Kathmandu which is presently shifted to the school compound, Swoyambhu. During the terms of first executive committee, there were about 500 members registered till 2055 B.S. After the successful term of four years from Bhadra, 2051 B.S. - 2055 B.S. the executive committee responsibilities was unanimously handed over to new committee under the presidency of Mr. Binaya Bikram Shah, in Ashwin, 2055 B.S. in the General Assembly held at school premises.

Activities

A. Grand Get Together & tea Party

 

The first program was organized in Baishakh 2052 B.S. as Grand Get-Together (and Tea Party) of the ex-students. About 600 ex-students of the school participated in the programe alongwith teachers and staffs of AKVP. The get together programme also comprises of Cultural Programme of dances by Sita Gurung (2050 batch student) and various other ex-AKVP artists and humour entertained by reknowned artist Samde Sherpa (2038 Batch student). The programme was inaugurated by V.C. of Kathmandu University, Dr. Suresh Raj Sharma. Life membership to all 5 students of the first batch of AKVP was presented during the programme. More than 100 new members for the association were registered the same day.

B. Buddha Jayanti at Anandakuti Bihar

The executive members of the committee had volunteered at the Buddha Jayanti programme at Anandakuti Bihar on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti 2052 B.S. Chief guest of the programme was Crown Prince Deependra Bir Bikram Shah Dev and also attended by the Prime Minister Man Mohan Adhikari.

C. Blood Donation Programme

 

The third programme organised by AKAA was Blood Donation programme at Hall of AKVP school participated by 70 blood donors. The medical experts, (ex-students of AKVP), Dr. Nigam Man Maskey, Dr. Sanjeevan Mahara and Dr. Udaya Bajra Bajracharya had rendered their medical service at the programme. The lucky draw prizes to 10 donors were also given the same day for the donors.

D. Grand Dinner & Felicitation of the best students

On 17th Chaitra 2052, Grand Dinner and felicitation of S.L.C. top students from AKVP was organised at Hotel Orchid, Tripureswor. Chief guest Population and Environment Minister Mr. Prakash Man Singh had given away felicitation letters to all the S.L.C. toppers ( SLC Board 10th) from AKVP since the beginning of the school. The Grand Dinner was participated by about 300 ex-students and teachers of AKVP school. The fund was collected from entrance ticket sales from the participants.

E. S.L.C. Certificate Distribution Programme

 

The S.L.C. certificate issued by Examination Board was distributed by Patron of AKAA to about 100 ex-students of the school since 2014 B.S. On the same occasion the lucky winners of the Raffle issued to raise fund to elevate statue of the founder of the school was announced by lucky draw. The program was hosted by Prabhat Rimal.

F. Statue unveiling Programme and Teacher's honour Programme

On the occasion of founder's day on 5th Bhadra, 2054, the brass statue of AKVP founder Ven. Amritananda was unveiled at AKVP compound, Swoyambhu by former Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand. The programme was participated by various monks, social workers, AKVP teachers and about 200 ex-students. On the same occasion the S.L.C. board top student Mr. Amar Kaji Shrestha, of the previous year was presented Gold Medal. About 39 teachers and staffs who had worked for the school for 15 years or more were also felicitated by the honorable Prime Minister with Dosalla (shawl). The fund for the statue was collected from raffle and membership fees from the new members of the association.

G. Honour Programme of Asst. Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism - Mr. Sushil Man Sherchan

 

The ex-student of AKVP, Mr. Sushil Man Sherchan, of 2035 batch was honored by AKAA in the programme in Poush, 2054 wishing him congratulation for his success as Asst. Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism. A cultural programme was also performed by students of AKVP on the same occasion.

H. Second Grand Dinner and Cultural Programme

In Chaitra, 2054, Second Grand Dinner programme was organised for get-together and re-union of the ex-students of AKVP. The cultural programme was performed by AKVP students directed by Mr. Chandra Man Munikar and hosted by famous artist Mr. Samde Sherpa.
Finally, the first AKAA committee have created the opportunity to be together as Alumni of the school under the one roof of AKAA by organising various above activities with objectives as follows -

1. To make harmonious relationship, unity and understanding between ex-students of AKVP.
2. To help uplift Nepalese social welfare by mutual exchange of experience, skill and capabilities between new and old students also through individual talents.
3. To develop talents, various regular publications and organising different competitions.
4. To work for World Peace, fraternity, mutual understanding and cooperations.
5. To help overall developments of our school.
